Verizon Net Book Appraise
As well as internet books, notebooks, and mini’s being all the rage these days, Verizon recently launched a $199 HP Mini1151 NR Broadband 10.1 inch Notebook that is buzzing all the computer circles, and saturating the T.V. ad sites.
After a few weeks of searching, reading reviews, looking at specs, stats, performance, dimensions and everything else down to the available colors and of course, price, I have found (and purchased) the best notebook on the market for the currency.
First of all, the Verizon Mini is just $199 if you sign a 2 year provision bookings for:
$39.99 monthly access as 250 MB monthly allowance and 10 cents per megabyte overage, for those that:
* Need a portable connection 7-8 hours a month
(a month ? I taste that a day !)
* Send or receive electronic message with small or no attachments
* Light Web Browsing
* Download or upload small documentation
* Download a song or two just once inside a while (?)
or
$59.99 monthly access with a 5 GB monthly allowance and 5 cents per megabyte overage, for those that:
* Desire a hang out in mobile connection
* Send or receive email plus large attachments
* Download or upload large files such as photos
* Desire frequent access to Web sites
* Download music every now and afterward
Without the 2 every once a year unanimity, the notebook costs $599 !
However, without the 2 year agreement, you then have the option of purchasing a day pass for those who:
* Want the flexibility of using Mobile Broadband without a long-phrase commitment
* Only crave broadband data access once a while
* Cost is $15 a daytime (per 24 hr period) How many of those do you assume you’ll rack conscious in a year ? Just 5 days a month is $75 !
They don’t offer an unlimited magazine plan for mobile broadband, you get an “allowance”, and there are overage charges if you set out above your weekly “allowance”…not a good treaty because the standard to large user, or even the casual one that doesn’t want to ration their internet time.
Verizon’s Netbook also 3G Network Lacks Freedom and Versatility
Competitors Already Launching Worldwide 4G WIMAX
Second: The Verizon notebook boasts 3G access on the Verizon network. The problem with that is…. Verizon is behind behind other corporations like Sprint, Clear also voluminous others who are already rolling out their 4G networks worldwide, otherwise known as WIMAX (which stands because Worldwide Interoperability as Microwave Access) which offers higher speeds and wider assurance areas.
Third: The product description plainly states that the notebook can only be used with a well matched service plan, variety of like how diverse mobile phones can only betrothal used on the network that you bought them as….so this laptop will only activity (get admission to the internet) if I have a Verizon service plan ?
Is There a Better Alternative ?
I in fact want a mini notebook but because always, this was a little too good to be right. What do I do now ?
After a few weeks of searching, reading evaluations, looking at specs, stats, performance, dimensions and everything else gulp to the available colors and of course, price, I taste found (and purchased) the best notebook on the market given that the capital riches.
Acer, the organization that owns Gateway, Packard-Bell, and E-machines is inside dominate of the mini notebook market as in any case as Verizon’s most recent notebook giving pales inside comparison to the Acer Aspire One 11.6 creep Notebook.
I previously own 3 wide video display monitors from Acer, hence I was already regular and their quality.
Having read many reviews (0ver 300) of the smaller model (Aspire One 10.1), I opted to go for the new version the Acer Aspire Lone 11.6 Notebook.

OK, Sounds Good ! Where Can I obtain Lone ?
I found the Aspire One 11.6 inch Netbook on Amazon for $329,
There is furthermore the Acer Aspire One 10.1 because $319
And the Acer Aspire One 8.9 Netbook for $309
All suffer 160 GB Hard Drive and 1 GB RAM or more with varying battery options from 3-6 area. (3-8 Hours of battery life)
Compared to $599 because the Verizon notebook (without a 2 year contract) with less memory, a smaller screen, less solution, or $199 with a 2 once a year service contract save for it only works on the Verizon Network.
Or the Verizon Dell mini (likewise with 10″ display) that starts at $399 ! (service contract similarly required).
A number of of the Aspire models are Blue Tooth equipped. The model that I purchased ($329) was not, which I rectified with a $19 Blue Tooth USB adapter ( I’ve acknowledged them as low for the reason that $3.00, and if you buy a Blue tooth mouse anyway, you before now get the adapter), so that I don’t need tie up the USB ports with peripherals, which also makes my tiny Acer Notebook Wifi, WIMAX, and Bluetooth network ready.
I Purchased the Acer Aspire One 11.6 ” Netbook
I got the Blue Sapphire Exclusively and Could not be Happier with it !
I have had my Aspire One AO751h for about 2 weeks at the present (I got the Sapphire Blue) and I couldn’t be comfortable and I have already road checked out it at the local coffee shops and various different places around town and experience gotten rave reviews enjoys total strangers ( who always ask, “Is that the Verizon solitary ? I was thinking bout realizing one of those.”) which inevitably ends wakeful as anyhow as me discussing the variation between the two while men lean over my shoulder like I cleanly purchased a new puppy, or are showing off pictures of the kids to the family holder.
Being a Sprint consumer, I already had a Dash Broadband USB card ($49.99 unlimited by the way), but I am free to use whatever forever I wish for the life of the Notebook, it is not pre-installed with anything that will lock me into a reservations.
Comparing the two, I just believe that the Verizon HP, or Verizon Dell notebooks are a good contract. They look great when you depiction them on T.V., but upon further evaluation, they aren’t stocked nearly as well as the Acers, nor do they offer the freedom. It’s lone thing to have a phone that is fixed to a network, on the other hand the very last thing I wanted was a computer attached to one.
In my opinion, you may certainly do a great covenant of better than the Verizon model and I am very happy with the Acer Aspire Series.
